Christ Church Oxford and Magdalen College Chapel, Oxford
There are within both the church and chapel many interesting windows that tell a tale about our Christian History and one window in particular, or section of window. Its called the Sea of souls, installed around the 15th centuary.
Please do not steal any of my images, they are all copyright to myself. If you like the image email me or leave a comment.

Stained Glass Windows In Christ Church

The others i will attempt to find out more information
Sea of Souls Stained Glass Window
This section of window called the "Sea of Souls" is very interesting, dated around the 15th centuary.
The souls last journey, from earth to heaven.
On the Sails you will see what we call "semen fluid" which can represent the rebirth of the soul into the afterlife.
Or does it mean as one soul leaves the earth plain to heaven, another is returning to the earth plain from heaven. (Two schools of though on that i think)
As you can see the souls have a angel to transfer them safely across the river.
The two windows below the sea of souls, i think represent adam and eve and the garden of eden.
Arborvutae means tree of life or spiritual development. The Serpant or snake wrapped around the tree is symbolic of the Devil.
It is interesting because a Hindu form of Yoga represents the same idea. This is called Kundalini. (Shakti)
Shakti lies coiled at the base of the spine. It is envisioned either as a goddess or else as a sleeping serpent. The Kundalini resides in the sacrum bone in three and a half coils and has been described as a residual power of pure desire once released through meditation it is said to enlighten the individual.
So with kundilini the spine is the tree of life and the serpent is coiled around its base.

Thomas Beckett Stained Glass Window
Thomas Beckett's Stained Glass Window is recorded as the oldest window in Christ Church. There is a older Stained Glass Window within the Sales Shop along from the church entrance, this glass is missed by most visitors as its on a staircase in the shop.
